Job Description
Keyano College, University Studies and Environmental Technology, is looking for a qualified contract instructor to teach labs for GEOG 105 – Introduction to Mapping, GPS, Remote Sensing and GIS. The course will train students in the acquisition, presentation and interpretation of geospatial data. Topics will include understanding the nature of geographic data, scale, coordinate systems, and cartography, land survey systems, global positioning systems (GPS), vector and raster representations, and remote sensing through the use of geographic information systems (ArcGIS). The lab for this course will be offered during the Winter 2024 term. The course begins on January 4 and ends on April 26.

The successful candidate will be responsible for laboratory work, marking and grading. This position is for labs taught on campus in Fort McMurray.

The ideal candidates should possess the following skills:
  • Experience with ArcGIS.
  • Proficiency in using different teaching techniques, including active learning.
  • Knowledge of current educational technology platforms, such as Moodle and Zoom.
  • Student-oriented mindset with exceptional organizational skills.
  • High level of professionalism, accountability, and integrity.
Advertised Salary Competitive per course contract.
