Required Qualifications
  • Alberta Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification with interprovincial Red Seal certification
  • Minimum 5 years’ post-journeyperson experience
  • Strong communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced knowledge in hydraulics, electrical or fuel injection
  • Knowledge of engine and gear repair, experience with computer diagnostics.
  • Cummins, MX, Detroit Diesel, or CAT experience.

Job Description

The School of Trades and Technology is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Instructor. Reporting to the Chair, the successful candidate will be required to prepare and instruct quality lessons and conduct demonstrations as directed in curriculum and course outlines.

Duties will include:
  • Curriculum development and review
  • Preparation for instruction
  • Instruction in classroom and lab/shop and work experience settings
  • Student consultation and advisement
  • Supervision, classroom management, and evaluation of students.

This position qualifies for the Northern Living Allowance of $1,040.00 per month. This allowance is reviewed annually and is subject to budget approval.
Advertised Salary Faculty salary range is $71,785.48 to $121,523.99 per annum. Placement on the salary grid is reflective upon educational and experiential qualifications. Keyano College also offers an attractive benefits package.
