Required Qualifications
  • Current clinical experience in medical/surgical nursing and/or long term care nursing.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills are essential.
  • The successful candidates must have current BLS for Health Care provider, CARNA registration, and submit an RCMP criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science in Nursing  
  • Progress towards Masters in Nursing preferred
  • Prior facilitation/teaching groups and/or clinical teaching would be considered an asset.
Department Nursing & Allied Health Studies
Job Description
The successful candidate will be prepared to teach clinical rotations in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) program. The Nursing & Allied Health Studies Department requires Contract Clinical Instructors for the Fall 2023 and Winter 2024 semesters. Shift rotations vary and include weekdays and weekends. Length of shift may vary from 10-12 hours

Contract Clinical Instructors will facilitate clinical teaching of nursing students enrolled in the BScN program, across Years 2 to 3. This involves the planning and implementation of the course requirements, evaluation of students in clinical courses.  Clinical teaching  is required in long term care nursing and/or in adult medical-surgical acute care nursing settings. 

The position responsibilities include: participating in the clinical teaching and evaluation of students; supporting student success through learning plan activities; working with other faculty in clinical teaching team; working with Program Coordinator and Department Chair; participation in department meetings; and provide course and student feedback. Applicants should be student focused and willing to teach students during their clinical rotations.
Advertised Salary Salary is based on education and experience.
